990 SUPERDUKE LOWER ENGINE CRASH SLIDER SET

GBRacing Frame Sliders are considerably different to today’s existing frame protectors/crash mushrooms. We only manufacture from high quality injection moulded engineering materials. One such material is an Impact Modified Nylon material, chosen for its tremendous impact resistance, more information can be found on our Engineering page.
Traditionally frame protectors are CNC manufactured from extruded solid materials, such as Delrin, Nylon etc. These materials are then CNC machined into various shapes. The choice of materials used may indeed be correct for their machining qualities but not necessarily the best for the application.
As an injection moulded process, and our preferred choice of Impact Modified Nylon materials, we are able to design frame protectors with variable wall sections, absorbing impact and distortion within the moulded structure itself. This absorbtion process reduces the impact transfer through to the frame.
We use high quality Stainless Steel A2 or Titanium alloy Ti 6AL-V4, bolts throughout the range. Strength and malleability are paramount in choosing these grades.
The internal Steel plated structure that the bolt passes through is designed as a one piece construction. The outer moulding is a 2 part moulding, Crash Mushroom first then a spacer.
Our frame protectors are generally 25% shorter in length than most other similar products.
Longer frame protectors are more likely to transfer greater leverage forces on impact and in some circumstances may increase the chances of the bike flipping.
Our design allows flexural movement along the length of the moulded protector, in 2 main areas, as well as absorbing the initial impact, thus reducing transfer forces during the slide.oduct supplied as a complete unit including all brackets and bolts required to mount the sliders.
